The first and highly anticipated single off the upcoming album Reservoir of Heresy. Seen at the talent show and other locations, Rage's style encompasses radical politics with deep emotional lyrics. (Lyrics) Verse 1: My Life's a record that keeps getting scratched and there's a hole in the middle that'll never be patched and it keeps taking me back It's hard to stay standin' and stick to the hatched plan And still underground, yet I cant stay planted Don't take for granted The times that you have And remember to remember all the times that you laugh They go quick You can't always tell what'll be relevant The words may be done, but the beat stays prevalent I rap to the beat of my heart, freedom apart of expression The music flows through my veins every session And I'll follow it/ like a moth, to fire And reach my goal, because it's my heart's desire I know my time is limited; no sense cursin it, cuz Life is short, but death is permanent I try to seek fame, knowin it lasts momentarily And careful of the shortcuts, so I approach warily I am aware of those, who have come before Whose footsteps rest deep, so you can't ignore To take the path less trodden, I try not to follow But its to the same goal, so my soul falls like Apollo 13/ is this mic even working? Runnin out of oxygen, brain short circuiting So many issues, so little time to solve'em Been so far from home, like Houston we have a problem Chorus: And you don't gotta like the truth The truth doesn't like you (You're a hack) And you don't gotta like the truth The truth doesn't like you back Verse 2: This is my life, I got stories to tell So hop into my boat, cuz homie we settin sail Im like the soon to be general, the rest are all lackees I spit rhymes like bullets at civilian Iraqis The way I decide, I could Die and burn in a pit Cuz im like US hydrogen bombs, I don't care who I hit In the boxing ring, America is me, Middle East the enemy Then the gloves have been off, UN's a blind referee Tough as pro-football players, work like a dog in dog fights But I keep getting denied, more often than gay rights I am the freedoms taking a mass fatality But they keep it quiet, like net neutrality They all wanna catch me, like Osama, so I hide But they all let me continue, like Sudanian genocide Are you listening to what I tell youz? No Your attention is declining, like Family Values The US is just one country in this troubled world The government has more cover up than teenage girls I try to stay positive and be who I am But I'm ironically negative, like recycling cans My flow stays changing, like todays daily ringtone But my heart can be broken easier than cell phones And Still, Im gonna steal the show, wait till my ish drop And one day, I'll die real slow, like hip hop Chorus Verse 3: I write more rhymes than the president writes lies And I'm less forgettable than a look in the devil's eyes I can go off less energy than SUVs Cuz hip hop is needier than refugees Cash rules everything around me, so the world is a lie Cuz im ironically negative, like e85 But my rhymes are never weak, never need more push And im loved by a small group of people, like George Bush They think that Im wrong, don't think that I should Im just more misunderstood, than young Hollywood Remember Britney Spears, at the VMA's, when she slipped Im really saying something, not just moving my lips I know You heard about me, I preach doom, the fall of an empire Cant stand the heat? Get out of my line of fire Im always pro at rhyming, cuz rap is my calling Got a devil on my left shoulder, on the right is an angel that's fallen So Im surrounded by darkness The perfect weapon, and the perfect way to impart this I stay the way I say I am Master with the master plan I've got a fatal way to pave, I'll rock your cradle to the grave, Im Rage The Vast Mass of cracked glass In the sky Grey and black overcast Starts and its over fast leading up to the storm of the century Dark times lead to even darker memories Lost count Cant even find a score we can keep Just know the rain makes it flood and the blood is up to your feet So much pain the Man can harvest and so much grim he can reap That when it's time to clean up, they'll need some bleach For the street And You don't gotta like the truth The truth doesn't like you (you're a hack) And you don't gotta like the truth The truth doesn't like you back Angry voices resonate in my home Suburbs are populated but they still feel alone Nothing to do but sit listening to metal and slim Hide my face cuz my only expression is grim I'm burnin time, it's burning out like candlewax But shun the sunlight, I can't seem to handle that I hide under the covers from the monster that's not coming, And life catches up to me because I'm not running Copyright 2008. ® All rights reserved.
